Clearinghouse Update: View Your CDL Information

UPDATES TO ‘MY PROFILE’ PAGE

Easily View CDL Information

Registered drivers can go to My Dashboard > My Profile to visit the updated My Driver Profile page. The driver's CDL information will be listed at the bottom of this page.

Don’t see your CDL?

When entering your CDL information, the Clearinghouse will verify your information against information in the Commercial Driver’s License Information System (CDLIS). If you have not successfully verified your CDL information, you will see a message prompting you to do so. You will need to add and verify your CDL information before you can receive or respond to employer query consent requests. Click Add CDL# at the top or the bottom of the My Driver Profile page and follow the system instructions.

If your CDL number has special characters (such as spaces or dashes), try entering the CDL number with or without these characters, as requirements vary by State. If your CDL number begins with a zero, or multiple zeroes, be sure to enter these.

Owner-Operators: Request Employer Role to Conduct Queries, Report Violations, and Designate C/TPAs

Individuals who employ themselves as CDL drivers (often referred to as owner-operators) and operate under their own USDOT Number are subject to both the driver and the employer requirements of the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse regulations. This includes the requirements to conduct queries (§ 382.705(b)) and report violations (§ 382.703). Owner-operators are subject to an additional requirement to designate a consortium/third-party administrator (C/TPA) in the Clearinghouse (§ 382.705(b)(6)).

Why did I receive this email?

If you are receiving this email, you are registered in the Clearinghouse as a CDL driver. Drivers cannot conduct queries, report violations, or designate C/TPAs in the Clearinghouse.

If you need to update your role, contact FMCSA and request to have the “employer role” added to your Clearinghouse account. You will still have access to the “driver role” which allows you to respond to query consent requests and view your violation history.

Not an owner-operator?

If you do not employ yourself as a CDL driver, or if you operate under another motor carrier’s USDOT Number, you should not request the employer role, as the driver role will allow you to respond to employer query consent requests.
