Clearinghouse Update: Materials for Motor Carriers

If you are a truck or bus company registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation (and have your own U.S. DOT Number), you have the option to link your Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse account with your FMCSA Portal account. Taking this step will back up your Query History, in case you experience issues with your Clearinghouse account, and makes it simpler for FMCSA to verify that your company is registered in the Clearinghouse.

Enhanced Portal Linking Process

Earlier this year, FMCSA streamlined the process for linking your Clearinghouse account with your FMCSA Portal account. You no longer need to enter the Portal user ID and password, the Clearinghouse will automatically search the FMCSA Portal for an account using the same email address you use to log in to the Clearinghouse.

Updated User Guides

We have revised our educational guides to align with the new account linking process. You can download these revised materials in the Clearinghouse Learning Center or using the links below. Note: The following resources are only for organizations that are required to register with FMCSA and obtain a U.S. DOT Number. Find out if you need a U.S. DOT Number.
