From Friday, April 19, 2024, at 8:00 am to Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 8:00 pm Eastern Time, the Commercial Driver’s License Information System (CDLIS) Gateway will be intermittently unavailable due to scheduled system maintenance. Clearinghouse users may experience issues verifying driver information during this maintenance time.

On Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 6 pm to 10 pm Eastern Time, Pay.gov services will be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance. Employers are asked not to attempt to purchase Clearinghouse query plans during this brief interruption in service.

Also, from Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 11:00 pm to Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 3:00 am Eastern Time, FMCSA will perform scheduled system maintenance. Users will not be able to access the Clearinghouse during this time.

Yes. Employers may designate a C/TPA or C/TPAs to conduct queries and/or report violations on their behalf. The C/TPA must be registered in the Clearinghouse before an employer can select the C/TPA, and C/TPAs must be designated by the employer before reporting drug and alcohol program violations or querying the Clearinghouse on their behalf.

An owner-operator (an employer that employs himself or herself as a commercial driver’s license (CDL) driver, typically a single-driver operation) must designate their C/TPA(s) as part of their Clearinghouse registration process.
